Who We Are

25 Years of OTA | 1999 - 2024
Founded by Joseph Oyebog - former Cameroon Tennis champion

We are OTA, Oyebog Tennis Academy, a non-profit organization founded in 1999 by Joseph Oyebog, a former ATP pro, Davis Cup player and Cameroon National Champion, to bring the benefits of tennis to underprivileged children in his native Cameroon, Africa. Since it’s founding, OTA has introduced over 20,000 children to tennis, giving them not only tennis skills, but life skills as well. These include values such as teamwork, determination, perseverance, kindness and generosity. OTA has also given them self-confidence, and the chance at a better life, and 22 of these players have obtained college scholarships or coaching positions in the U.S. and Europe.

Our IMPACT

OTA provides children in Cameroon, Africa the opportunity to improve their lives through the sport of tennis.

“Over war, malaria, and HIV, the program is a safe haven for children; a place to go where they feel great about themselves. When I see a kid on the court smiling, with something else to think about besides illness and when their next meal will come; when they have some light in their lives, I know it is all worth it.” -Joseph Oyebog
